We were given the opportunity to be creative and come up with how would I "hack", or come up with a different design using the Hera top, which is a free pattern if you sign up for the Wardrobe by Me mailing list here,

I have been eyeing a woven cross over bodice dress in maxi length and finally had the opportunity to sew one up. But, I wanted the tie belt to be in the center and not to the side as a normal wrap dress would tie. While it is a wrap dress hack, it ties in the center.

Here is a brief overview:  I used a medium weight woven rayon fabric. I did not want my maxi dress to be overly full, I wanted a bit more fitted look. I used the bodice top front and back, not the peplum, measured approximately 18" wide towards the bottom length and measured down to how long I wanted my maxi. I cut from the waist of bodice down and tapered out to the 18" wide measurement toward end of hem. I repeated the same step for the back bodice. I sewed the ties to the side seams according to where I wanted my ties to be, and then sewed snaps to close the sides of the dress. for the sleeves I extended them to approximately 5" and gathered. It's best to use the add on sleeve for this process if you wanted a longer sleeve than the pattern provides. You can pick up the add on sleeve here in the support group.

This is not a tutorial, but a brief overview of what I did.

I have learned that sewing for men can be difficult, but using Wardrobe by Me patterns, has made it a lot easier. I made the Rebel sweat shorts out of a french terry fabric. My friend choose not to have the optional cuff, no waist band tie string, and had to have the waistband elastic top stitched. I also paired it with the Bram RaglanTee shirt also from Wardrobe by Me. He loved his birthday gift. He is now requesting the sweatpants.

MEN'S PDF SEWING PATTERN SIZE 2XS-3XL
The Rebel Sweatpant is a super comfortable, flattering and cool pair of classic joggers.
The slanted pockets are deep and cozy. The waistband is cut in rib fabric and the pants can be finished with or without a rib cuff. They can also be sewn as shorts cut above the knee and finished with a cuff band. The pattern includes an optional back pocket.
Available in sizes 2XS-3XL Model size 5'4"-6' (165 cm- 185 cm) .

Also on sale are the women's Urban Jogger, which I made last year out of french terry for winter and paired it with the Hope Hoodie, also from Wardrobe by me. Make a set of joggers and sweat pants for you and your significant other. Click on the link for you pdf copy.

Designer Stitch's 2nd Birthday Party Celebration.

ANNIVERSARY BLOG TOUR for
DESIGNER STITCH DESIGNS
1ST BIRTHDAY SALE EVER

My Blog tour for Designer Stitch is a compilations of garments made with Designer Stitch's patterns. Come July it will be a a year that I have been testing and sewing garments for Ann Gross of Designer Stitch, and I love all her designs. Take a look of a sampling of some of Designers Stitch designs. Plus, take advantage of the once a year 50% off all patterns until June 12, 2017, Australian time. Click on the link to purchase. http://designerstitch.com/?affiliates=12

I loved, loved sewing the Willow Kimono. I love being creative, and when Ann Gross said "be creative", creative I was. I had these two old silk kimonos saved in my fabric stash. This was a perfect garment to use these silk kimonos. I used two different kimonos to get the different colored border. I used a rayon trim with rhinestones for the front border, and hand tied rayon string together to form the fringe. My all time favorite kimono. I love the Bohemian look, and feel I achieved the look here.

The Willow Kimono made with black woven lace, rayon trim for front band, and rayon fringe for the sleeves. A classic to wear out for an evening date.

The Bridgette long sleeve Top. I sewed the split sleeve with ties, and v-neck. I used a cotton voile fabric, very light, breathable fabric, and comfortable to wear. The Bridgette also has another pattern in short sleeves.

The Eleni Dress, Top, Tunic, is another of my favorites Designer Stitch Designs. For this version I made the knee length, bell sleeves, with an optional neck tie, and sash/belt. I made this Eleni out of a rayon challis fabric. I use rayon challis often, because it is comfortable and breathable to wear.

Shown here is the Eleni in a maxi version, bell sleeves with trim, and also made in a rayon challis fabric.

Next up is the Gypsy Dress or Tunic. I made the High/Low Dress version. Again, I made this dress out of a rayon challis fabric.

Shown below is another Designer Stitch Design, the Kat Weekend Top. This top is a very fast sew. I added a rayon trim and made out of a medium weight, woven rayon fabric.

An all time favorite show below is the Kera Skirt. This skirt was so much fun to sew. My version has a wide waist which has an interfacing. I like this type of waist band because I found it to be flattering on the waist. I sewed many ribbon ties between the seams to be able to have the look of layers on the skirt when the ribbons are tied together. I used a thin sash and a crinkly type woven fabric, with a sheen to it.

The Megan skirt shown below is made out of a woven fabric. I used a faux suede fabric, and for the front panel I used a quilted cotton fabric.

A big Thank You Ann Gross for your fantastic designs of which I so enjoy being creative with. Thank you for allowing me to be one of your testers and putting me to the test, pushing myself to come out of my shell, learning new skills, and being creative.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ANN GROSS.

Enjoy everyone else's Blogs.
